I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with over ten years of experience in my field. The first degree I received was a BA in Psychology from the University of Colorado at Denver in 2010. I continued my education and received a MA in Marriage and Family Therapy from Regis University in 2015. I am currently attending National University to attain a Ph.D. in Marriage and Family Therapy, specializing in Children and Adolescents, and am expected to graduate in 2025. I am in finishing up my AAMFT-Approved Supervisor credential, in order to supervise at a high-level and standard to be ethically, legally, and culturally adherent and sensitive. I also received two post-graduate certificates, one in Counseling Children and Adolescents, which qualifies me to become a Registered Play Therapist (RPT), and the other in Depth Psychotherapy, which focuses on issues of meaning, values, and a just existence from a community and cultural perspective.

I have post-graduate experience serving children, adolescents, families, individuals, groups, and couples. I started with an internship at a middle school and non-profit setting serving low-income individuals by providing individual, group, family, and couples therapy. I then worked in a juvenile correction setting as a Youth Corrections Social Worker, providing individual, group, and multi-family group therapy. I have experience in a community mental health setting, providing play therapy to elementary-aged children; as well as training in Multisystemic Family Therapy (MST), with a substance use adaptation, an evidence-based treatment for adolescents who meet the criteria for substance use disorder and who also have behavioral problems. I provided in-home therapy to this population that focused on the individual, family, and caregiver sessions implementing structure and rules in the home to support parents with enforcing rules, rewards, and consequences. I also worked in an intensive outpatient, partial hospitalization, and inpatient setting in a behavioral health hospital, providing evidenced-based group therapy implementing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Mindfulness groups with patients. Furthermore, I have education, training, and experience in treating addictions.

The combination of my education, training, experience, and credentials allows me to take a highly personalized, evidence-based approach to help clients achieve powerful, lifelong changes. In addition, be able to support students, interns, and unlicensed therapists to learn and grow through high-quality supervision and training to become licensed.

I am an Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I’m originally from California and moved to Colorado in 2018. The majority of my experience is in working with children, trauma therapy, and high conflict family systems; however, I have also worked with adults in recovery. I enjoy working with clinicians and helping to inspire and develop their passion for working with clients. I have supervised professionals in the both the behavioral health and mental health industries for the past 6+ years while also maintaining a small caseload personally and supporting the clients and families I oversee. I believe the core of growth and healing stems from understanding what inspires and motivates us as individuals, and learning how to get others to see our intention.

I am a licensed Clinical Psychologist and Certified Eating Disorder Specialist. I received my Master’s and Doctorate degrees from Southern California Seminary in San Diego, CA. I completed my pre-doctoral and post-doctoral training at a psychiatric hospital working with severe mental illness, as well as acute stabilization for depression, anxiety, and other mental health diagnoses. Additionally, I have worked in foster care for children and adolescents, treatment of substance use and other co-occurring disorders, mental health treatment facilities, and eating disorder treatment facilities. I have spent the last several years working in Leadership as a Clinical Director and Regional Clinical Director for higher levels of care including inpatient psychiatric stabilization, inpatient and residential care for eating disorders, as well as partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient settings for various mental health issues. I specialize in the treatment of eating disorders, mood disorders, anxiety disorders, substance use issues, relationship issues, and interpersonal issues. I understand that each client comes in with unique needs and individualized care is very important and necessary for growth. I utilize various skills-based treatments in my work, including Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy, exposure therapy, and open process/talk therapy.

In addition to my clinical work, I have had the privilege to supervise pre-licensed clinicians and practicum students for the past 8 years and I am very passionate about helping grow and develop the healers in our community. I enjoy teaching, supporting, and sitting in the uncertainty and insecurities we often feel as a new clinician in the field. I also find a great deal of joy and professional fulfillment in the work I’ve been able to do in educating and training professionals in our field. I have had the privilege to present at several national conferences and within treatment facilities I have worked on various topics such as eating disorders, substance use, trauma, body image, relationships and how mental health impacts an entire family system, as well as many other topics. I am always looking for new ways to grow and develop my own skills and enjoy attending conferences and educational opportunities whenever I can!

My family and I relocated to Colorado from Southern California in 2021. My husband and I are both native Southern Californians and this move was the first big move for both of us. We have two amazing children and a sweet miniature golden retriever who all keep us very busy! We’re loving this life we are building in Colorado. I believe the relationship in therapy is integral in the healing process and I feel very privileged to walk alongside the clients I am privileged to work with, as well as the clinicians I supervise. When we choose to look at the parts of ourselves or the parts of our lives that are hard and challenging, and when we put in the work to make changes that will help us heal and grow, the work is worth it!

I have received my bachelor’s degree in psychology from Liberty University, and I am now pursuing my master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy. While obtaining my bachelor’s degree, I gained experience working with children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder, and other behavioral disorders. I worked as a Registered Behavior Therapist, providing applied behavioral analysis therapy when working with these children and their families. I also gained experience with children of other varying behavioral disorders as a Mental Health Worker, providing after-school respite care. My experience in ABA and respite care has expanded my knowledge and effectiveness in working with others. This will be useful when I begin my career in Marriage and Family Therapy! My passion and motivation for choosing Marriage and Family Therapy is the value of relationships. Humans are relational beings, and the marriage/family relationships are of utmost importance in one’s life. I want to aid others in experiencing this value amongst their relationships and equip them to express themselves, while better understanding and loving one another.

I received a bachelor’s degree in psychology and completed a master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling from Adams State University. I have experience working with individuals, couples, and families. I have experience with trauma, abuse, depression, anxiety, health issues, body dysmorphia, divorce, loss, and raising children. I approach these topics in a biopsychosocial fashion. This has allowed me to get to the root of many issues using a multidimensional aim that targets the emotional, psychological, physiological, and spiritual aspects of human health and behavior. I believe that one greatly affects the other and that balance is needed in all domains to lead to mental, physical, and emotional health.

I will help you identify underlying issues and concerns while also being in the present and helping to confront unresolved emotions and memories. I try to pinpoint your values so that we can work together to align your life with what matters most to you. I wish to provide a safe space for you to express what you need as we explore underlying narratives, belief systems, worldviews, behavioral patterns, and emotional blocks that you made need to process through.

I use an existential theoretical foundation with elements of Gestalt therapy, ACT, CBT, Narrative therapy, Internal Family Systems Therapy, and compassion-focused therapy to assist you with relationship difficulties, addictions, traumas, depression, anxiety, OCD, body dysmorphia, loss and grief, divorce, abuse, children, and much more.

Asking for help is hard and is perhaps one of the biggest first steps in the healing process. I am so happy you are here! Do you look at the world and feel that you should have it figured out but don’t? Are you struggling with grief or trauma? Do you want to make connections but are struggling to find a way to make that happen? Or are you needing help with setting a career goal, or just need someone to talk to? You are not alone in feeling these things and I would love to help you! Using a combination of person-centered therapy, CBT, and motivational interviewing, we can work together to set goals and find coping mechanisms to address a wide range or behaviors. One size does not fit all. I like to get to know my clients so we can work together to find the best approach to address the issue. A little bit about me: I have my Bachelor’s in Biblical Studies from Belhaven University and my Masters in School Counseling from University of Southern California. I am a dedicated and passionate professional with a wealth of experience in the criminal justice and mental health fields. I earned a Bachelor’s degree from Western State College in 2000, with a double major in Political Science and Sociology, emphasizing in Criminal Justice. During my undergraduate studies, I worked as a Residential Milieu Counselor with young men who committed sexual offenses.

After graduation, I worked in the criminal justice system from 2001 to 2005, in Community Corrections with city offenders and inmates released from the Department of Corrections (DOC). In 2005, I transitioned into community mental health and began pursuing a master’s in counseling from the University of Phoenix, which I obtained in 2007. From 2006 to 2011, I worked at Acacia Counseling, facilitating court-ordered domestic violence groups for men, women, and the LGBTQI population. I also conducted anger management and Cognitive Behavioral groups.

Following my time at Acacia Counseling, I served as a domestic violence advocate, supporting survivors in successfully exiting unhealthy relationships and navigating the court system as necessary. In this role, I also conducted psychoeducation groups for women, men, and children involved with the child welfare system. My passion for writing, teaching curriculums, and conducting trainings to educate others has been a consistent theme throughout my career.

In 2014, I began working in the child welfare system, where I have spent the past decade working with children and families. I specialize in assisting adolescents emancipating from the foster care system, providing them with the support and guidance needed as they transition into adulthood.

Throughout my career, I have gained extensive experience in addressing trauma, anger management, domestic violence, and supporting adolescents, including LGBTQI youth and adults. My work is characterized by a non-judgmental and engaging approach, underpinned by a strong foundation in Motivational Interviewing and Solution-Focused techniques, with plans to further refine my theoretical approach.

After obtaining my master’s, I initially focused on family and other career opportunities before returning to therapy. I obtained my Licensed Professional Counselor Candidate (LPCC) credential in April 2023, with plans to achieve the Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) designation by April 2025. My experience with diverse populations and commitment to helping people of all walks of life underscores my dedication to the field.
