I have received my bachelor’s degree in psychology from Liberty University, and I am now pursuing my master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy. While obtaining my bachelor’s degree, I gained experience working with children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder, and other behavioral disorders. I worked as a Registered Behavior Therapist, providing applied behavioral analysis therapy when working with these children and their families. I also gained experience with children of other varying behavioral disorders as a Mental Health Worker, providing after-school respite care. My experience in ABA and respite care has expanded my knowledge and effectiveness in working with others. This will be useful when I begin my career in Marriage and Family Therapy! My passion and motivation for choosing Marriage and Family Therapy is the value of relationships. Humans are relational beings, and the marriage/family relationships are of utmost importance in one’s life. I want to aid others in experiencing this value amongst their relationships and equip them to express themselves, while better understanding and loving one another.
