I received my undergraduate degree in psychology from Liberty University, and I am now pursuing my master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy at Colorado Christian University. I have three years of experience working with children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder, amongst other behavioral disorders. I worked as a Registered Behavior Therapist, providing applied behavioral analysis therapy, working with children and their families. I also gained experience with children diagnosed with varying behavioral disorders as a Mental Health Worker, providing after-school respite care. My experience in ABA and respite care has expanded my knowledge and effectiveness in working with clients in achieving treatment goals. This has been useful as I am furthering my education in Marriage and Family Therapy!
My passion and motivation for choosing Marriage and Family Therapy is in my value of relationships. We are relational beings, and the couple/family relationships are of utmost importance in one’s life. I want to aid others in experiencing value amongst their relationships and equip them to express themselves, while better understanding and loving one another.
As the Office Manager with Family First Counseling, I have the opportunity to closely work with, and learn from, therapists and supervisors while on my own journey towards becoming a mental health provider. I enjoy working with potential clients to find a therapist who will be a good fit for them and their needs, while also utilizing critical administrative skills that will assist me in the future as a therapist.
