Hi! My name is Megan O’Brien and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who has been working at Family First Counseling since October 2023. I received my Masters in Counseling Psychology, MFT Track with an emphasis in health psychology in June 2023 from Santa Clara University in California. A majority of my experience from graduate school and my internship were working with children and adults on the autism spectrum using behavioral therapy, as well as working as a school-based therapist for elementary age children. Currently, I work with anyone and everyone including children, teens, couples, individual adults, and families. My experience with these populations ranges from addressing high risk behaviors, to managing depression/anxiety, to improving interpersonal relationships. I have also completed the Gottman levels 1 and 2 couple’s therapy certifications. I’m passionate about supporting any and every client with their presenting needs in an individualized way, and showing up as authentically as possible.

Client Testimonials

"I can’t thank Megan enough. She has helped me tremendously throughout one of the toughest times in my life. She’s calm, funny, and soft spoken. Because of that I was able to be open and share my story with her. I would recommend her to anyone I know or don’t know."

“Megan is absolutely amazing! There is nothing I would ask her to change or do differently! She encourages, challenges and listens to my partner and I in every session! She goes above and beyond, even when not in session, and always checks in afterwards. If we need additional support, she is there in her off hours or finds additional time to work through things with us, together and individually!”

“Megan is amazing and wonderful at every single aspect. Megan is extremely effective at making my child feel comfortable enough to discuss feelings and any issues. She’s become a great support system, and my child looks forward to time spent with her.”
