Hi! My name is Esmeralda, and I am a Marriage and Family Therapy student at Colorado Christian University. I was born and raised in Colorado, am Mexican American, and speak Spanish. Before beginning my graduate training, I worked as a case manager supporting children with developmental needs and adults navigating mental health challenges. My cultural background and life experiences have shaped my deep appreciation for family, meaningful relationships, and the importance of having people in our lives who make us feel known, supported, and connected. I am passionate about helping individuals, couples, and families build healthy relationships with themselves first and then with those around them.

My approach to therapy is rooted in connection, empathy, cultural humility, and authenticity. I view each person through a systemic lens, recognizing that our lives are shaped by our families, relationships, communities, cultures, and experiences. I believe that healthy relationships can look different for every individual and family. My hope is to meet clients where they are and help them discover what greater health, connection, and growth can look like within their own lives and relationships.

In the therapy room, I strive to create a safe and welcoming space where clients feel seen, heard, and respected. I believe therapy is not about rushing someone toward change, but about walking alongside them at their own pace as we explore their unique experiences, relationships, strengths, and hopes for the future. My hope is to help clients experience greater freedom, develop deeper connections with themselves and others, and move toward meaningful and lasting change.

Outside the therapy room, I enjoy spending time outdoors in quiet places where I can slow down and soak in the simplest things in life—trees, birds, the sound of the wind, and the beauty of God’s creation.
