Hi there! My name is PJ and I am passionate about creating safety for clients to slow down, feel genuinely heard, and better understand themselves without judgment. I pay extra attention to the underdog, recognizing how societal systems may limit clients, especially if they are different from those around them. I welcome the opportunity to work with clients from diverse backgrounds and believe that effective therapy requires honoring the many identities, cultures, and experiences that shape each person’s story.
I aim to work collaboratively with clients and always come from a place of curiosity because I know they are the expert in their own experiences. I draw primarily from Gestalt and Narrative approaches, which means I am interested in helping clients re-write self-limiting stories they tell about themselves and become more aware of their thoughts, emotions, and needs in the present moment.
I have a background in behavioral health and have spent countless hours working with children everywhere from residential care settings to out in the community. This has fueled my passion for working with children, whose energy I am typically well equipped to match! In graduate school, I have spent all my elective credits learning further about child, adolescent, and play therapy. Previously, I graduated with a Bachelors in Science of Psychology from Grand Canyon University.
