Hello! My name is Shea, and I am an MFT intern. I am currently obtaining my master's in clinical mental health counseling with a specialization in Marriage, Couples, and Family Counseling at Walden University. I earned my bachelor's in psychology with a minor in Criminology from the University of Denver in 2023. During my time in the field, I have worked with young children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and with adults in community mental health settings. These experiences have shaped my passion for working with individual adults, couples, and families to navigate life’s challenges within an ever-changing social and cultural landscape.

I approach therapy with a commitment to cultural humility, ongoing self-reflection, and awareness of power and privilege. I strive to remain attentive to how systemic oppression and marginalization impact mental health, and I intentionally seek to provide supportive, respectful care for LGBTQIA+, BIPOC, neurodivergent, and other marginalized individuals. My goal is to create a space where you feel seen, valued, and empowered as the expert of your own lived experiences.

My therapeutic approach is informed by existential and person-centered theories that emphasize finding hope, meaning, and purpose in both hardships and everyday life. When working with couples and families, I believe strong, cohesive relationships are built when individuals feel grounded in who they are. We will focus on cultivating self-efficacy, empowerment, and compassionate self-talk while honoring your unique identities, values, and strengths.

Outside of the therapy room, I enjoy playing video games, painting my nails, spending time in nature, and annoying my cat.
